Our £58,000 grant will help to fund WomenCentre’s first foray into supported housing. The project is intended to provide nine bed spaces (six for young women and three for their children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness).
The project involves refurbishing six single tenancy properties in accessible mid-range locations. It’s envisaged that three will be leased and three purchased.
This project is replicating a model pioneered successfully in Hull over the last decade by Preston Road Women’s Centre. Preston Road Women’s Centre are providing consultancy support with this project.
