Some wonderful walking routes to get your Steptober steps up

Steptober is just around the corner now!

 

To give you some stepping inspiration, we’ve come up with some great walking routes which will let you experience the sights and sounds of Central London in a new way.

 

Make sure to sign up for any of these which take your fancy – they’re fantastic not only for getting your steps up, but also for some great networking opportunities.

 

Walk 1 – Wednesday 2 October

 

Paddington Basin – Granary Square

4 miles – 1 hour 20 minutes

This route will take you along the beautiful towpath along Regent’s Canal. The Canal provides some of the quirkiest and most stunning sights and sounds central London has to offer, ranging from houseboats to zoos to the famous Camden Lock. Reward yourself for this 4-mile walk at the end with a canal-side drink at The Lighterman.

Walk 2 – Wednesday 9 October

 

Piccadilly Circus – Marble Arch

 

5 miles – 1 hour 40 minutes

This is a walk that will really let you experience all the beautiful greenery central London has to offer. Taking you through three of the royal parks – St James’ Park, Green Park and Hyde Park – you’ll see all sorts of wildlife, beautiful lakes, lush walking paths and ducks galore. This route might be five miles long, but really it’s just a walk in the park! Refresh yourself afterwards with a drink at the Duke of Kendal.

Walk 3 – Wednesday 16 October

 

Monument – Monument

 

3.4 miles – 1 hour 10 minutes

Starting and finishing outside M7 Real Estate’s offices at Monument Station, this route along the Eastern loop of the Jubilee Walkway will take you along the Thames and around the City. You’ll step through the Royal Exchange before crossing over Millennium Bridge, going past Shakespeare’s Globe and along the Thames all the way up to – and along – Tower Bridge, looping back around to Monument. Treat yourself for all those steps with a drink at The Monument afterwards!

Walk 4 – Wednesday 23 October

 

Piccadilly Circus – Clapham Common

 

5.5 miles – 1 hour 50 minutes

This is a great route for anyone who works in Central but lives south of the river! Taking you from the hustle and bustle of Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus, this route takes you down through Westminster and over the Thames along Chelsea Bridge. You’ll then stroll through the beautiful Battersea Park, winding through Clapham to end up at Clapham Common. You’ll be very near the excellent Prince of Wales pub where you can quench your thirst after logging all those steps!
