The LandAid Awards 2023

Oh what a night!

Thursday 30 November saw the second ever instalment of the LandAid Awards take place – bringing over 100 individuals from the property industry and charity sector together, for an evening of both reflection and celebration.

The LandAid Awards is now an annual celebration of the individuals, teams and organisations who make our work possible. The Fundraisers, Ambassadors, Board members, Pro Bono contributors and beyond, from across the depths and breadth of the property industry and charity sector, who embody LandAid’s values of ambition, responsibility, tenacity, inclusivity, and creativity.

Without the support of these superlative individuals, organisations (and you!), we would not be able to drive our mission forward and do the work we do – providing safe and secure accommodation for young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

LandAid Awards

As the youth homelessness crisis continues to worsen - latest figures show that almost 136,000 young people aged 16-24 presented to their local authority as experiencing or at risk of homelessness last year.

This is a 5% increase on the previous year – our work, and your support, is more vital then ever and we are entirely grateful to each and every one of you who go above and beyond to make a difference.*

We believe that every single one of our supporters deserves to be recognised and celebrated, not least because of the phenomenal and selfless efforts undertaken this past year through fundraising activities, awareness initiatives and more, however the night itself must belong to our award category winners.

LandAid Awards Kevin Hunter Impact Awards winner

This year, we introduced an extra special award category in memory of our beloved colleague, Kevin Hunter, who we sadly lost earlier this year.

‘Kev’ as he was fondly known, headed up LandAid’s Programmes & Impacts Team and his expertise surrounding the issues and barriers young people experiencing homelessness face, was (and remains) invaluable to our team, our work, and our impact. Kev’s contagious passion for supporting young people in need is the legacy we want to hold strong to and this award is just one step towards doing that. We can say with absolute certainty that those recognised in this category, and the inaugural winner, unequivocally demonstrate that passion in abounds.

Maryam Zonouzi (Lemon Leopard) – Highly Commended

Thank you!

A special thanks to all nominators, nominees, and those in attendance on the night, with a special extension of gratitude to LandAid Patron Rob Bould, LandAid Ambassador and Senior Architect at J2 Corporation, Gemma Copp, and the incredible young people, Kip and Abbey from Youth Voice who openly spoke to the room on the night about their experiences of homelessness.

The evening itself would not have been possible without the generous support of our partners, and imitable hosts, Landsec.
