DHYP

Stock Condition Survey

YORKSHIRE & THE HUMBER – Doncaster

About the Organisation

www.dhyp.org.uk

We support young people, aged 16-25, who are at risk of homelessness, helping them overcome disadvantaged backgrounds so they can have a brighter future.

Over the years we have supported thousands of young people, providing a range of services, including supported lodgings and other accommodation-based services, as well as support with mental health, helping young people develop life skills to be able to live independently and support to access employment.

At the heart of our work is a focus on supporting young people to achieve their potential – key to which is having a place to call home. Our services help bridge the gap between where people are when they are referred to DHYP and where they wish to be in terms of achieving their goals.

We work closely with a range of partners, such as the local authority, St Leger Homes, Doncaster Foyer and YMCA. We are an important part of the jigsaw of provision in Doncaster and work collaboratively and proactively with numerous organisations.

The accommodation we provide is designed to support the homelessness pathway in Doncaster, where there is currently a shortage of suitable move-on accommodation.

Request details

Doncaster Housing for Young People (DHYP) currently only own one property, a 3-bedroomed house that is used to provide shared, supported housing. They also lease another 3-bedroomed house from a private landlord that is also used to provide shared, supported housing.

DHYP are keen to expand the accommodation they offer, but in making their plans they have recognised the need to better understand the current condition of the property they already own, to be better able to make provision for long-term maintenance and replacement of key components.

The charity would therefore be very grateful for any offers of pro bono professional support to carry out a stock condition survey of their three bedroomed house in Doncaster.

Timeline

There is currently no fixed deadline, but the charity are keen to undertake this work ASAP.
